We are currently recruiting volunteers to join the team as Citizen Advocates.....
We are pleased to hear from anyone who is interested in giving some of their time to support others to have a voice, feel empowered and stand in their corner.
Our Citizen Advocate volunteers are an integral and much valued part of the advocacy service we provide. The role of a Citizen Advocate requires patience and understanding- an ability to listen and understand is essential. It can be demanding, sometimes challenging, but always interesting and ultimately very rewarding. You really can make a difference to someone’s life.
There's not a particular type of person who volunteers as a Citizen Advocate, although you need good communication skills, be resourceful, self motivated and be organised.
We will provide you with on-going training and support to ensure you have the skills needed to be an effective Citizen Advocate
